Job description

Responsibilities

• Responsible for 3D/2D structural design of optical modules/sub-assemblies.


• Lead mechanical design of optical modules, ensuring MSA compliance


• Perform tolerance analysis, EMI shielding, thermal analysis, DFM reviews, and more.


• Participated in design reviews for new optical module products.


• Create tooling/jig design for sample build.


• Collaborated with optical, layout, and thermal engineers to deliver complete module designs.


• Directed analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of assembly-related issues.


• Conducted failure analysis, provided technical support for client and production site issues.


• Prepared and maintained relevant technical and regulatory documentation.


• Provided training and mentorship to new team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.


• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for optical transceiver/ OSA products.


• Familiar with various optical module MSAs (e.g., OSFP, QSFP, QSFP-DD).


• Solid understanding of fundamental principles of optical module products.


• Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis skills, both at customer sites and production lines.


• Proficient in preparing standardized documentation and failure analysis reports.
