Job description

Responsibilities

• Serve as or work toward becoming the subject matter expert (SME) for SMPS power supplies across the Asia region.
• Collaborate strategically with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure alignment with global objectives.
• Challenge existing practices where appropriate and establish best-in-class engineering standards, procedures, and models to enhance processes.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot SMPS power supply issues to determine root causes, providing feedback and recommendations to relevant teams for design or process improvements.
• Develop and implement test plans to assess the impact of design changes and mitigate potential risks.
• Take technical ownership of projects, identifying and managing associated risks, and driving effective resolutions.
• Prepare and issue failure analysis reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with sales and customers regarding delivery timelines and issue resolution progress.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians to build team capability.

Requirements

• Strong technical expertise in power electronic converter topologies (AC/DC) and magnetic design, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in design and engineering projects.
• Familiarity with manufacturing, testing, quality assurance, and change management processes.
• Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills with experience using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and DFX analysis methods.
• Knowledge of EMC and safety design is an advantage.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
