Job summary

Public Service Division in Singapore is seeking a System Engineer (Devices) within System Development to design and build software for front-end devices in an integrated e-payment fare collection system. You will analyse needs, evaluate existing systems for gaps, and work with stakeholders, users and vendors through implementation and verification, ensuring performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in C++ software development for embedded systems or Windows platforms.
• Strong object-oriented design and UML modelling skills.
• Ability to translate requirements into system architectures and software designs.
• Knowledge of multi-threading, socket programming, IPC and serial communication.
• Experience with software-hardware integration and device drivers.
• Familiarity with memory management, latency and real-time processing in constrained environments.
• Understanding cloud architecture, cloud-native services, security, and microservices.
• Experience with SDLC methodologies such as RUP, Agile, or CI/CD.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to articulate design decisions.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
