Job summary

Kulicke and Soffa Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering Organization.

You will design and develop advanced electrical and embedded systems for next‑generation semiconductor assembly equipment, and support end-to-end development from prototyping to product release. You will work on real-time distributed control, motor drive systems, and PCB/cable design, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high‑performance solutions and robust

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of relevant experience in circuit design and analysis.
Knowledge of control systems including PID control and feedback theory.
Hands-on PCB design experience including schematic capture and layout.
Experience with Altium Designer is an advantage.
Experience with cable design for continuous-flex applications.
Familiarity with Zuken E3.cable is an advantage.
Experience with microcontrollers and firmware development in C.
Familiarity with hardware debugging tools is a plus.
Experience with FPGAs and HDL, including IP integration, RTL simulation, and timing analysis.
Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and probes.
Knowledge of motor control systems such as DC servo motors and stepper motors.
Exposure to communication interfaces (VME, PCIe, RS485, Ethernet, LVDS, SerDes).
Knowledge of machine-level electrical system architecture is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical and innovative mindset with a collaborative, proactive attitude.
Ability to manage external vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities

Design and develop advanced electrical and embedded systems for semiconductor equipment.
Develop embedded systems for real-time distributed control and data analysis.
Design power electronics and control systems for motors and actuators.
PCB design and verification using Altium Designer.
Design continuous-flex cables using E3.cable.
Coordinate PCB and cable release through Teamcenter.
Prepare technical specs and documentation for new designs.
Conduct bench and system-level testing and bring-up.
Troubleshoot and support production and field issues.
Execute verification activities and reliability tests.
