Job summary

AEM Singapore is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and validate electrical systems for industrial equipment. You will prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, and control architectures, selecting PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and safety devices to meet CE/UL/IEC standards.

You will lead projects, perform root cause analysis, interact with customers to understand production challenges, and drive improvements in performance, reliability, and safety across modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering; 5–10 years of experience.
• Experience with custom automation equipment or capital equipment.
• Proven experience leading engineering projects.
• Customer-facing experience in technical sales support or solution engineering.
• Experience supporting equipment upgrades and modernization projects.
• Proficient in CAD; SolidWorks Electrical preferred.
• Optimize electrical designs for cost and manufacturability.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication, presentation and critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate electrical systems for industrial equipment.

• Develop innovative solutions to improve performance, productivity, reliability, and safety.
• Present proposals and roadmaps to customers.
• Recommend retrofit strategies for existing equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement to boost competitiveness.
• Participate in design reviews and risk assessments.

Job Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and validate electrical systems for industrial equipment.

2. Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and control system architecture.

3. Select appropriate electrical components, including PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, sensors, motors, safety devices, and industrial communication networks.

4. Ensure designs comply with international electrical and machine safety standards (CE, UL, IEC).

5. Conduct root cause analysis and develop engineering solutions for equipment issues.

6. Lead electrical troubleshooting during factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning.

7. Engage directly with customers to understand production challenges and operational requirements.

8. Develop innovative engineering solutions that improve equipment performance, productivity, reliability, and safety.

9. Present technical proposals, upgrade concepts, and solution roadmaps to customers.

10. Recommend retrofit solutions and modernization strategies for existing equipment.

11. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product competitiveness.

12. Participate in design reviews and risk assessments.
