Job summary

A maritime engineering company in Singapore is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their project team. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience in detailed electrical design and engineering, particularly for offshore and onshore oil and gas projects. Expertise in tools such as MicroStation, PDMS, and E3D is crucial. The role involves collaboration on various design tasks, ensuring quality control, and understanding project requirements to meet schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of experience in electrical detailed design and engineering for offshore/onshore oil and gas projects.
• Proficient in the preparation of documentation and drawings.
• Experience in Cabsys, STID, and Nodal diagrams is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead designer in establishing discipline deliverable list and procedures.
• Carry out 3D and/or 2D design reviews and model reviews.
• Ensure compliance with QHSE requirements.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Assist lead Designer/Engineer in establishing the discipline deliverable list & procedures, interface definition and co-ordination. Production, modification and review of documents and drawings as per discipline deliverable list.
• Carrying out all tasks assigned by lead designer in accordance with the discipline procedures and practices.
• To carry out / involve in 3D and/ or 2D design and model reviews, hook-ups, wiring drawings, installation drawing, MTO generation
• Identifying external interfaces and supplying timely information Define resources needed to perform the work
• Ensure that the work is carried out to the specified QHSE requirements
• Maintain a positive and safe working environment at work location Comply without fail with the company code of conduct and always ensure ethical behaviour. Strive to continually upgrade competence level of self.
• Encourage to and always seek improvements to the project costs and schedule. Refer to generic discipline deliverable list for details of discipline deliverables.
• Understand and comply with internal control procedures Minimum 12 years’ experience in electrical detailed design and engineering for offshore/onshore oil and gas projects including FPSO, process platforms and HVDC converter platforms
• Must have experience in preparation of single line diagrams, layout drawings, cable block diagrams, interconnection diagrams etc. using MicroStation software.
• Must have experience in generation of electrical bulk materials, cable ladders, cable and cable gland MTO’s.
• Experienced in lighting & small power and heat tracing design.
• Diploma/Degree holder in Electrical Engineering or similar.Thorough knowledge of 2D drafting tool Microstation.
• Thorough knowledge of 3D drafting tool PDMS and/or E3D.
• Must have proficiency in using PDMS and/or E3D software tools for cable ladders, field trays, supports, lighting & small power equipment modelling, Lighting illumination calculation, Cable routing.
• Production of and review of new documentation and drawings directed by lead engineer/designer.
• Revision of new and existing project documentation and drawing
• Review 3D and/or 2D design
• Quality control assurance and improvement of the discipline work and implementation method
• Support the lead engineer/designer in meeting project schedules and budgets along with other team member.
• Be familiar with applicable project procedures, practices, and special project requirement.
• Experience in supporting site teams by resolving site queries/issues.
• Experience in Cabsys, STID and Nodal diagrams will be a distinct advantage.
• Exposure to /Involvement in Yard Fabrication activities.
• Conversant with oil & gas industry standards and Class rules such as DNV, IEC etc
