Job summary

Hyphen Partners is building the next-generation search infrastructure for the AI era. You will own the ingestion pipeline end-to-end—from deciding what to crawl to fetching, rendering, and keeping the index fresh at internet scale.

We value engineers who think in terms of scalable systems, with experience in C++ or Rust, and a willingness to own services end-to-end including on-call. Familiarity with TypeScript, Playwright, and Chrome DevTools Protocol is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with a high-performance systems language (C++, Rust, or similar).
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Playwright, and Chrome DevTools Protocol is a strong plus.
• A track record of optimizing systems to an exceptional degree, not just shipping and moving on.
• Genuine interest in making high-quality information findable at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own the ingestion pipeline end-to-end: deciding what to crawl, fetching and rendering, and keeping the index fresh at internet scale.
• Work on distributed crawling with throughput/latency optimization and reliability at internet scale.
• Collaborate on backend/infra-adjacent services close to caching, queuing, storage, or observability.
