Job summary

Airwallex is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to shape and scale our cloud infrastructure for global growth from Singapore. You will own the DevOps strategy, partner with cross-functional teams, and drive reliability, security, and performance across platforms.

You bring 5+ years in DevOps, deep Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitOps skills, plus hands-on experience with data streaming tools like Kafka or Flink, and programming ability to ship observable platforms.

About The Team

The Data Devops team is tasked with providing our data engineering and analytics teams with the right tools. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the data infrastructure, incorporating technologies such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark. Additionally, you will create and enhance tooling and platforms to empower the engineering team with improved self-service capabilities.

This role is based in Singapore.

What You’ll Do

• As a DevOps engineer in the team, you will be responsible for leading the design of our DevOps strategy, and working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and evolve the cloud infrastructure optimized for performance, scalability and security in order to support our next 10x growth.

• You will be working across multiple countries, owning our Data and AI infrastructure across the world.

• You will bring to the team a level of expertise in operational platform management, developing observability and detection capabilities that will decrease time to discover problems and allow our teams to increase stability and not sacrifice agility or security.

• A key aspect of this position will be building consensus amongst DevOps Engineers across geographies in different feature teams about the tools and practices we use, and evolving that consensus into agreed standards.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience.

• Demonstrated expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitOps

• Data streaming engineering experience. Prior experience working with data streaming platforms such as Kafka, Flink, etc., or databricks.

• Hands-on experience with at least one programming language.

• Bachelor degree or above in computer science or engineering related majors.
