What does the role look like?
Technical Leadership
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting expertise for complex hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Design, implement, and maintain desktop infrastructure solutions including operating systems, applications, and configurations.
  • Lead desktop-related projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
System Architecture and Design
  • Design and implement desktop management solutions such as imaging, deployment tools, and software packaging frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain desktop security policies, configurations, and access controls.
  • Evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance desktop performance, security, and user productivity.
Team Collaboration and Mentoring
  • Collaborate with IT teams including network, security, and systems administrators to ensure integrated and optimized desktop services.
  • Mentor junior desktop engineers, providing guidance, training, and knowledge sharing opportunities.
  • Participate in hiring processes and performance evaluations for desktop engineering team members.
Documentation and Compliance
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of desktop configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security standards, and licensing agreements related to desktop environments.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks related to desktop systems and data.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and cost optimizations in desktop management and support.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate and implement new technologies or services.
What are we looking for?

  • Proficiency in desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and enterprise management tools (SCCM, Intune, Jamf, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V) and desktop deployment methodologies (MDT, WDS, etc.).
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and task scripting.
