Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will design seamless, engaging digital experiences by shaping the underlying structure, information flow, and interactions across products, services, and systems. You will work closely with senior client stakeholders, strategists, designers, and technology teams to define future‑state digital experiences. You will apply human‑centered design principles, informed by research and deep insight into human behaviour, to translate complex business and policy requirements into clear journeys, screen flows, and interactions. You are comfortable operating in highly agile, iterative environments and guiding clients toward scalable, enterprise‑ready solutions delivered at speed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design Best‑in‑Class Experiences
Design customer and employee experiences including functions, information architecture, and interactions that deliver intuitive, coherent, and high‑quality digital experiences across enterprise platforms.
- Translate Strategy into Experience
Partner with client stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to translate business concepts, policies, and service strategies into end‑to‑end journeys, service flows, and interaction models.
- Develop Navigation and Information Structures
Define navigation pathways, content structures, and information hierarchies that support clarity, usability, and task completion across complex systems.
- Consider User Context at Scale
Design for diverse user contexts including role, culture, environment, accessibility, and operational constraints. This can be for both public and private sector settings.
- Integrate Constraints into Design
Balance user needs with technological, operational, security, and regulatory constraints to deliver feasible, scalable, and sustainable solutions.
- Design for AI‑enabled Experiences
Shape human‑centred interactions with AI‑powered features by translating complex models, recommendations, and automation into clear, trustworthy, and usable experiences.
- Apply Enterprise Design Frameworks
Leverage IBM Enterprise Design Thinking® and IBM Garage practices to frame problems, set priorities, align stakeholders, and guide solution development across discovery and delivery phases.
- Provide UX Leadership within Squads
Act as the UX lead within multidisciplinary squads, providing direction on research, experience strategy, design execution, and the evolution of product features, design systems, content strategy, and product identity.
Required technical and professional expertise
- Strong foundation in human‑centered design and design thinking, with the ability to frame, analyse, and solve complex problems.
- Demonstrated expertise in UX design, design research, usability testing, and design systems, across digital products and services.
- Ability to create clear experience artefacts including site maps, user flows, and interaction models that communicate structure, navigation, and behaviour.
- Experience conducting workshops and synthesising stakeholder and user research, translating insights into actionable design directions and success criteria.
- Systems thinking capability, structuring abstract ideas into practical, scalable solutions aligned to overall experience and service strategy.
- Practical experience working in agile, cross‑functional squads, contributing to the design, delivery, and evolution of digital products and services.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, able to articulate design rationale and inspire teams toward intuitive, usable outcomes.
- Knowledge of current and emerging design tools, technologies, and digital trends, and their impact on user experience design.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in consulting, digital agency or in‑house.
- Experience in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite of products.
- Experience in oral presentations, written documents, and executive presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a design‑related discipline.
- English: Fluent
