Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Senior DBA to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise databases across on-premise and cloud environments. This role involves ensuring high availability, performance, and security for SQL Server, Oracle, and AWS RDS databases while supporting application teams and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade SQL Server and Oracle database instances (on-prem and cloud).
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Always On, Data Guard, Replication, Clustering).
  • Monitor performance, optimize queries, and conduct database tuning.
  • Manage backups, restores, patching, and security compliance.
  • Automate routine tasks using T‑SQL, PL/SQL, and PowerShell scripts.
  • Support application development teams and troubleshoot cross‑stack issues.
  • Participate in 24x7 on‑call rotation for incident response.
  • Maintain documentation and provide regular database health reports.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams for changes and service transitions.
Technical Skills
  • SQL Server: 2016/2019/2022, HA/DR solutions, performance tuning, cloud migration (AWS RDS/EC2).
  • Automation and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
  • MySQL/PostgreSQL knowledge in cloud environments.
  • DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, CloudFormation.
  • Multi‑region/AZ deployments and cost optimization in AWS.
Experience & Certifications
  • 5+ years SQL Server DBA experience, 2+ years Oracle DBA experience.
  • Strong scripting in T‑SQL, PL/SQL, and PowerShell.
  • Certified in Microsoft SQL Server/Azure, Oracle 12c/19c, and AWS Database or Solutions Architect.
Soft Skills
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Able to work independently and in hybrid/remote environments.
  • Flexible to support critical issues and on‑call rotations.
