Job summary

Referment, a capital markets fintech, is building a modern cloud data platform for analytics. The Lead Software Developer will set technical direction across backend and data initiatives, with a focus on Snowflake-based analytics and data services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/SE or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• Proven experience leading complex technical projects
• Strong SQL tuning for transactional workloads
• Extensive Snowflake-based data platforms experience
• Strong Java with Spring Boot and REST APIs
• Experience with AWS services and IaC
• Proficiency in Python and automation tooling
• Understanding of data warehousing, OLAP and dimensional modelling
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of data platform architecture across storage, integration, analytics and governance.
• Drive Snowflake-based reporting, analytics, AI data products and warehousing.
• Own database architecture and performance tuning across Snowflake, PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
• Design and maintain scalable data ingestion, transformation and integration pipelines.
• Build analytics and self-service reporting with semantic models and BI integration.
• Partner with backend engineers on Java services and cloud-native AWS development.
• Develop Python tooling for automation and orchestration.
• Define engineering standards and mentor engineers across teams.
