Senior Data Management Professional - Data Engineer - BNEF Data, Singapore

The Role

As a BNEF Data Analyst, you\'ll help grow Bloomberg\'s renewable projects databases to further deliver an industry-leading data product offering. You will be responsible for developing essential elements of our data product, including its data model, data pipelines, and data quality specifications. You will be expected to monitor market and industry trends to influence Bloomberg\'s best practices, tools, and technical infrastructure for data lifecycle management. Our Data Analysts possess a unique combination of technical skills, subject-matter-expertise in the energy industry, good communication skills and ability to build relationships with various partners such as Engineering and Product teams to propose, develop, and implement solutions for our clients. You\'ll collaborate closely with both our Data counterparts and the BloombergNEF Product team in Princeton, New York, London and Asia.

We\'ll trust you to

• Design and manage workflow configurations for critical functions such as data acquisition, worklist management and quality control.
• Utilize technical expertise to assess and apply statistical methods, programming, and machine learning to enhance data quality, derive insights, and extract valuable information.
• Perform incident management, from troubleshooting and root cause analysis to overall problem management.
• Partner with a wide variety of team members from Engineering to Sales on product development.
• Analyze internal processes to find opportunities for improvement, as well as devise and implement innovative solutions.
• Synthesize customer feedback to shape data strategies and create an execution roadmap.
• Ensure the data product meets the needs of stakeholders and seamlessly integrates with other data products.
• Stay updated on market, industry, and dataset developments related to your area of support.
• Make well-informed decisions in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Report on results of on-going operations and projects, as required.

You\’ll need to have

• A Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a relevant STEM field, or equivalent professional work experience
• 3-5 years of data management experience, for example improving data quality, accuracy, efficiency or timeliness
• Experience in Data Profiling/Analysis using tools, such as Python, SQL, Excel
• Experience using Analytical/Dashboarding applications, such as Qlik Sense, Tableau, Splunk
• Previous work, internship and/or academic experience in data analysis, information technology and/or renewable energy
• Strong passion for data and the overall energy transition movement
• The ability to think creatively and provide out of the box solutions with an eagerness to learn and collaborate
• A proven track record of successful project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks accordingly
• Interest and/or experience in client and partner management
• Familiarity with data processing paradigms and associated tools and technologies
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
• Strong presentation and communication skills in English

Nice to have

• Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal or Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certification
• Experience in semantic structures or data modelling
• Strong aptitude for problem solving particularly to modify and enhance processes and workflows
