Job summary

Unison Group in Singapore is seeking an experienced Data Engineering Manager with 10+ years of big data engineering and leadership experience to drive enterprise-scale data platform initiatives.

You will lead data engineering teams, design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, and partner with cross-functional squads to ensure data quality and reliability across multi-cloud environments. On-site presence in Singapore is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related technical field.
• Minimum of 10+ years progressive experience in data engineering, big data development, and technical leadership.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Spark, PySpark, Python, advanced SQL, and distributed data processing.
• Practical knowledge of Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, and big data storage architectures.
• Experience leading data engineering teams, managing delivery, mentoring staff.
• Data modelling, enterprise data architecture, and scalable platform design.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; able to present to executives.
• Mandatory on-site work in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering teams with technical mentorship and delivery oversight.
• Maintain hands-on expertise in big data technologies and distributed computing.
• Architect, develop, optimize, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data processing frameworks.
• Build and support distributed data systems using Hadoop, Spark, PySpark, Hive, Kafka, Python and SQL.
• Drive enterprise data architecture, data quality governance, modelling, and performance optimization.
• Manage delivery timelines, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Administer multi-cloud data platforms across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Databricks.
• Document data schemas, pipeline topologies, and runbooks.
