The Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise end‑to‑end data ecosystems that support operational and analytical needs. You will architect robust pipelines and platform components deployed in Kubernetes, both on premise and cloud-native.

Qualifications

• Education in Engineering, IT, or Computer Science related field.
• At least five years of experience in data or platform engineering with independent architectural decisions.
• Expertise in on‑prem data platforms, Kafka and PostgreSQL, plus stream processing and scalable data architectures.
• Hands‑on with containerisation and Kubernetes, GitOps, and infrastructure‑as‑code workflows.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain data ecosystems across operational and analytical domains.
• Design and manage cloud‑native data platforms, including on‑prem environments with Kubernetes operators.
• Develop and automate resilient data pipelines, interfaces, and APIs using event‑driven architectures.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead architectural design reviews.
