Job summary

OCBC Singapore is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement cloud-native data pipelines and lakehouse solutions. You will work with Spark, Iceberg, streaming systems, and governance tools to deliver scalable data platforms. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in data/ software engineering is required.

You’ll collaborate with analysts and data scientists, modernize workloads, and ensure robust data processing while learning in a dynamic bank environment that supports career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of industry experience in software/data engineering.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native data platforms and data governance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines using cloud-native services.
• Implement data lakehouse solutions with Apache Iceberg and metadata frameworks.
• Modernize data processing with cloud-first architectures.
• Develop real-time streaming pipelines using Spark Structured Streaming or equivalent.
• Build end-to-end ETL/ELT workflows with Python and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Ensure data quality checks, monitoring, and governance practices.
