Job summary

Circles.Life in Bangalore seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable data platforms and pipelines across markets.

You will own end-to-end data initiatives, work with product, analytics, and engineering teams, and deploy cloud-native solutions with Kubernetes and CI/CD. The role emphasizes reliability, performance, and mentoring junior engineers while shaping our data strategy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Big Data, or Data Platform development.
• Strong skills in Python, Spark/PySpark, and SQL for ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with lakehouse technologies (Iceberg, Hive, Trino, BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).
• Hands-on with Kafka for real-time pipelines and cloud storage (S3).
• SQL performance tuning and database connectivity experience.
• Familiarity with Agile and JIRA; Kubernetes, Docker, and GitLab CI/CD are plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Build and maintain cloud-native data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Own data engineering initiatives end-to-end from design to production support.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and engineering teams to meet requirements.
• Design data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integration for BI.
• Monitor health, troubleshoot issues, and drive reliability improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture reviews and docs.
