Job summary

ScienTec Consulting seeks an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms supporting BI, analytics and AI initiatives.

You will develop reliable data pipelines, optimize data infrastructure and ensure high-quality data for business users and data teams. The role requires strong coding, ETL/ELT expertise, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, IS or a related field.
• 6+ years of data engineering or related experience.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and orchestration platforms like Airflow.
• Hands-on with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Databricks, Snowflake or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of data warehouses, data lakes, data modelling and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Develop and automate ETL/ELT processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Optimize data warehouses and data lakes for performance and cost.
• Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance with standards.
• Monitor pipelines and troubleshoot to ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers on analytics/AI projects.
• Develop reusable data models and datasets for reporting and insights.
• Maintain technical documentation and data engineering best practices.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve platforms and processes.
