SKYWAVES PRO PTE. LTD. seeks a Senior Data Engineer to own the design, governance, and reliability of business data warehouses. This role focuses on a data content layer, delivering accurate, standardized tables for faster access and consistent metrics.

You will develop scalable DWD/DWS/ADS architectures on Alibaba Cloud MaxCompute, lead data governance initiatives, and partner with analysts to standardize metrics while supporting BI dashboards and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data warehousing or data development.
• Expert SQL skills with complex querying and performance tuning.
• Strong Python skills for data processing and automation.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling and layered data warehouse architecture.
• Hands-on data governance experience across lineage analysis and metric standardization.

Responsibilities

• Data Warehouse Development: design data models and tables; build scalable DWD/DWS/ADS on Alibaba Cloud MaxCompute.
• Data Governance: lead lineage mapping, concept consolidation, and governance standards.
• Scheduling & Data Quality: manage scheduling, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and post-incident reviews; ensure data SLAs.
• Metric Standardization: define and document consistent metric definitions and calculation logic with analysts.
• Analytics & BI Support: support data extraction and ad hoc analyses; maintain core dashboards in BI tools.

Job Description :

The Data Analytics team is hiring a SeniorData Engineer to own the design, governance, and reliability of business datawarehouses. This is a data content-layer role, not a platform engineeringposition. The focus is to build fewer, more accurate, stable, and standardizedtables, enabling faster data access and consistent metrics.

Job Responsibilities:

• Data Warehouse Development: Designdata models and tables across derivatives, spot trading, wealth management,channels, middle-office functions, compliance, and other domains. Build ascalable DWD/DWS/ADS architecture on Alibaba Cloud MaxCompute.
• Data Governance: Lead lineage mapping,redundant table consolidation, obsolete job decommissioning, metricstandardization, and table-creation/review standards.
• Scheduling & Data Quality: Ownscheduling, dependencies, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, andpost-incident reviews. Ensure data SLAs through validation, cross-sourcereconciliation, and anomaly detection.
• Metric Standardization: Partner withanalysts to define and document consistent metric definitions and calculationlogic.
• Analytics & BI Support: Supportselected data extraction and ad hoc analysis requests, and build or maintaincore dashboards in DataWind.

Job Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in data warehousing or datadevelopment; experience building a data domain from 0 to 1 or leadinglarge-scale warehouse restructuring/governance is preferred.
• Expert SQL skills, including complex queryingand performance tuning, plus strong Python skills for data processing andautomation.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling andlayered data warehouse architecture, with the ability to independently designmodels and lead design reviews.
• Hands-on data governance experience acrosslineage analysis, metric standardization, asset decommissioning, and governancestandards, with measurable before-and-after impact.
• Experience with MaxCompute/DataWorks orsimilar platforms (Hive, Spark, Snowflake, BigQuery) and DataWind or similar BItools (Tableau, Power BI, Superset).
• End-to-end experience in scheduling,monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting, with strong ownership of data SLAsand the ability to communicate effectively with analysts and businessstakeholders.
