Job summary

ABeam Consulting (Singapore) is seeking a PMO leader to drive the implementation of a core banking system across the APAC region. The role requires coordinating a large, culturally diverse team and maintaining rigorous project governance.

You will partner with clients and internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while adhering to compliance standards and reporting requirements. The position involves strategic collaboration across banks and software vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 3 years at a top-tier or leading consulting firm in banking projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration across globally distributed teams.
• Experience with PMO for package system implementation.
• End-to-end PM skills: planning, execution, monitoring, closure, with budget/scope/quality accountability.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead the Ops team as PMO for a new core banking system across APAC (10+ countries).
• Define business requirements with BA support and ensure system coverage.
• Support PMO and client PMO for planning, tracking, and coordinating activities.
• Develop project plans, schedules, dashboards and PMO documentation.
• Monitor timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and escalate risks.
• Prepare weekly/monthly status reports for internal and client stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with client PM framework and templates.
• Coordinate with workstream leads, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Assist with change requests, risk/issue tracking, and lessons learned.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead Ops team as PMO for implementing new core banking system for APAC region (10+ countries).
• Creating plan and support BA to define the business requirements and ensure the system coverage. Progress and issue management are also included.
• Support the Project Manager and client’s PMO team in planning, tracking, and coordinating project activities to ensure smooth project execution.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, progress reports, dashboards, and other project management documentation.
• Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and dependencies, ensuring any delays or risks are promptly identified and escalated.
• Assist in preparing and consolidating weekly or monthly project status reports for both internal and client stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to the client’s project management framework, compliance standards, and documentation templates.
• Coordinate with various workstream leads, vendors, and cross-functional teams to facilitate communication and issue resolution.
• Assist with change request management, risk and issue tracking, and lessons learned documentation.
• Uphold consulting professionalism, maintain confidentiality, and foster strong collaboration with client teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in top-tier or leading consulting firms with a focus on the banking industry projects.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed teams across overseas offices.
• Good socialization skills, including physically remote members (located in different branch)
• Professional Mindset with Responsibility and Strong self-discipline and commitment to the project success.
• Expertise in PMO role for package system implementation project
• Proven experience in end-to-end project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of system implementation projects, with accountability for timeline, scope, budget, and quality delivery.
• Strong risk, issue, and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to proactively identify project risks, drive mitigation plans, manage cross-functional dependencies, and report effectively to senior management and steering committees.
• Expertise of Banking business and operations such as Trade Finance, Lending/Loan, Payment/Collection and Cash Management, Treasury and Market, Deposit, Accounting, etc is a plus.
• Implementation experience and knowledge of Trade360, Oracle Flexcube, Murex, ACBS, Finastra GPP, Oracle ERP is a plus.
