Overview

Our client, a leading international bank, is seeking an experienced compliance professional to join their Transaction Monitoring team. The role is ideal for candidates with strong analytical capabilities and a solid grounding in AML/CFT frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct systematic reviews and analyses of customer transactions and account activities generated from the bank’s transaction monitoring system to identify potential money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, or other suspicious activity.
  • Perform detailed investigations on transaction alerts, including reviewing customer profiles, transaction patterns, and relevant internal and external data.
  • Assess whether flagged activities are legitimate and determine appropriate actions, including closure or escalation for further review.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and well‑substantiated investigation reports and documentation.
  • Stay updated on emerging AML/CFT trends, typologies, and regulatory developments.
  • Assist in preparing data and summaries in support of potential Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) filings.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Compliance and Business teams, to resolve cases efficiently.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Compliance leadership.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Banking, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of hands‑on Transaction Monitoring experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse large datasets to identify behavioural patterns, anomalies, or inconsistencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and logical documentation.
  • Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Highly self‑motivated, organised, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
