Job summary

Airwallex’s Cloud Platform Engineering team is responsible for infrastructure that gives the organization visibility and control over its cloud resources. You will design a multi-level billing and cost attribution system that ingests raw GCP data and distributes costs across units, plus build a self-serve billing dashboard used by department leads.

You will also develop anomaly detection and cost optimization recommendations, implement automated rightsizing tooling, and roll out a JIT access

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with platform or infra tooling.
• Hands-on experience with GCP or AWS.
• Experience designing data pipelines or backend services processing large datasets.
• Strong understanding of cloud security: IAM, RBAC/ABAC, least-privilege, secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Design and build multi-level billing and cost attribution pipelines ingesting raw GCP data and distributing costs across units.
• Build the billing dashboard — a self-serve cost reporting system used by department leads across the organization.
• Develop anomaly detection and alerting for abnormal cloud usage patterns.
• Build cost optimization recommendations based on utilization signals across GCP resources.
• Implement automated resource rightsizing and waste reduction tooling.
• Implement and roll out a Just-In-Time access system to replace standing IAM privileges and build self-service credential management.
