Job summary

Charterhouse Partnership is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Azure Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-scale cloud solutions. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, infrastructure and security teams, and engineering to drive cloud transformation across hybrid environments.

In this role you will shape Azure architecture standards, oversee migration and landing zone design, and embed Zero Trust and security best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure, cloud architecture, or enterprise technology roles.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing Microsoft Azure cloud architectures in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Azure services including governance and landing zone, networking, and security.
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud architecture, enterprise infrastructure, networking, and security principles.
• Experience in regulated industries such as banking or financial services is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of enterprise Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, security, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Define cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices to ensure scalability, resilience, security, and operational excellence.
• Drive cloud migration and modernisation initiatives, including workload assessment, landing zone design, application migration, and optimisation.
• Design and implement secure Azure architectures covering identity and access management, networking, connectivity, governance, and compliance.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to embed security controls, Zero Trust principles, and cloud security best practices.
• Provide technical leadership and architecture guidance to engineering teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business and technology strategies.
• Support architecture reviews, technical governance, and ensure solutions meet enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Azure Architect to join a leading organisation and play a key role in designing, implementing, and governing enterprise-scale cloud solutions. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, and engineering functions to drive cloud transformation initiatives across hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of enterprise Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, security, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Define cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices to ensure scalability, resilience, security, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud architecture, or enterprise technology roles.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing Microsoft Azure cloud architectures in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience across Azure services including:
• Azure Governance and Landing Zone architecture
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud architecture, enterprise infrastructure, networking, and security principles.
• Experience with cloud migration, transformation programmes, and large-scale technology environments.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage senior technology and business leaders.
• Experience in regulated industries such as banking, financial services, or large enterprises is advantageous.

Preferred Skills

• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or equivalent.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, automation, and cloud operations.
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, compliance requirements, and technology risk management.
