Overview
The core purpose of a senior clinical psychologist in the Division of Specialist Services is to provide advanced clinical services, consultation, clinical supervision within a community-based mental health setting.
This role focuses on direct psychological assessment and evidence-based, specialised intervention for complex or high-risk cases, clinical consultation and case reviews, clinical supervision to psychologists and interns.
Qualifications
- Candidate must be SPP Registered Psychologist and SRP Approved Supervisor
Responsibilities
- To provide evidence-based psychological interventions (e.g., CBT, Schema Therapy, individual Cognitive Stimulation Therapy) for children and adults with complex cases, including those with co-morbid mental health conditions.
- To review and supervise clinical interviews during neurodevelopmental assessments and vet assessment reports.
- To manage triage, intake process and case assignment for new referrals.
- To respond with risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention for clients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms or suicidal ideation.
- To maintain timely and accurate case documentations in compliance with agency and funding requirements.
- To provide clinical consultation and case reviews for complex cases and contribute to collaborative practices in the context of a multi-disciplinary team (involving social workers, counsellors, medical and mental health professionals) and from a systemic perspective.
- To represent the agency in stakeholders’ engagement, community collaborations, sectoral workgroups.
- To provide clinical supervision to psychologists and interns pursuing master’s degree in clinical psychology.
- To provide training and guidance to staff on evidence-based practices, ethical issues, and trauma-informed care approaches.
- To initiate and conduct research to identify gaps, guide practice and contribute to the local evidence base psychological practices.
- To manage and review client data and service utilisation for service quality evaluation and reporting based on agency and funding requirements.
- Experience in providing case management and clinical supervision to psychologists in the community setting.
- Conversant in English and other languages.
