Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Climate Scientist with deep expertise in hazard modeling and simulation, particularly in flooding and wildfire risks. The candidate will play a key role in developing, validating, and communicating advanced climate hazard models that support our real estate, infrastructure, and risk analytics products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain in-house climate hazard models (with a focus on flooding and fire hazards).
  • Design and implement validation frameworks to ensure model accuracy and reliability.
  • Integrate model outputs into larger geospatial and risk-assessment platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of data engineers, product designers, and analysts to deploy scalable modeling pipelines.
  • Translate complex scientific findings into clear insights for clients, both technical and non-technical.
  • Stay updated on the latest IPCC methodologies, CMIP6 datasets, and relevant hazard modeling practices.
Requirements
  • PhD in Climate Science, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Atmospheric Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in hazard simulation, particularly flood or wildfire modeling.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) and familiarity with GIS tools.
  • Experience with model validation, calibration, and uncertainty quantification.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present scientific findings to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with large-scale environmental or geospatial datasets is a plus.
