Job summary

Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore seeks an experienced Compliance/Legal professional to lead CFCR advisory for Private Banking and Trust. You will help ensure conduct and ethics compliance across regulatory requirements and internal policies, collaborating with stakeholders and regulators.

The role emphasizes risk identification, advisory support, and the development of compliant processes to support the business in a complex regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Degree holder with 10+ years of experience as a Compliance/Legal professional in the financial services or related professional services industry.
• Excellent knowledge of financial/banking products, as well as laws and regulations.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore’s regulatory environment and demonstrated experience interpreting and applying regulatory requirements within Private Banking/Wealth Management/Trust.
• Direct experience in managing detailed compliance and banking processes, regulatory relationship management and/or in audit or operational risk management roles is a major plus.

Responsibilities

• Support and implement the vision, strategy and direction of the Singapore CFCR Private Banking and Trust team, consistent with the Global CFCR function.
• Identify, escape, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters relating to Private Banking and Trust.
• Establish and maintain risk-based compliance frameworks for identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, mitigating and reporting compliance risks across Private Banking and Trust in Singapore.
• Provide specialist advice and constructive challenge in a manner proportionate to the business.
• Support regulatory relationships with Bank regulators.
