Job description
Overview

You will support the nursing team in delivering safe and quality care to patients by assisting with patient care activities, ward housekeeping, and administrative duties. You will also play a key role in ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and visitors, while supporting the smooth operations of the ward.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, including orientating them to the ward environment.
  • Provide basic hygiene care such as bathing, oral care, toileting, and feeding.
  • Support patient mobility and positioning, including ambulation and transfer assistance.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as measuring vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and specimen collection and assist in procedures such as wound dressing, oxygen therapy, oro-pharyngeal suctioning and IV cannulation and venepuncture.
  • Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in patient areas and ward facilities.
  • Update bed census, manage bed assignments, and support discharge processes.
  • Handle ward reception duties, including attending to patient and visitor enquiries.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as managing medical records, appointment scheduling, and inventory tracking.
  • Support portering, despatch, and housekeeping duties to ensure smooth ward operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum GCE ‘N’ Level. Candidates with WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare (Nursing) will be an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and perform rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
