About Our Client
Our client is a leading global insurance services provider, specialising in complex, commercial and niche markets. They are growing rapidly in Asia, and now look to hire a Senior Business Development Manager to help accelerate their growth, deepen client relationships, and open new markets.
Job Description
- Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned with the company's global growth ambitions and local market dynamics.
- Identify, target and win new clients in the region, with a focus on securing complex, high-value mandates.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key decision-makers and act as trusted adviser.
- Conduct market analysis: map competitor offerings, understand client pain-points, identify niches or underserved segments (e.g., aviation, energy & natural resources, E&S lines).
- Work cross-functionally with service delivery teams (loss adjusting, surveying, forensic consulting) to ensure proposals are tailored, commercially compelling and technically credible.
- Lead proposal development and presentations, negotiate commercial terms and close deals.
- Monitor performance of new business wins, ensure client satisfaction, and contribute to retention and upsell efforts.
- Provide input into go-to-market collateral, thought leadership content and digital campaigns in collaboration with marketing.
- Track pipeline, forecast revenue, report against targets, and contribute to regional business-planning.
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum 10 years' business development or client-facing sales experience, ideally within the insurance services, risk consulting, loss adjusting or professional services sectors.
- Proven track record of winning complex, high-value mandates (multi-jurisdictional, commercial lines) with senior stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of the insurance ecosystem: carriers, brokers, third-party administrators, loss adjusters, risk managers.
- Excellent relationship-building, networking and influencing skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to craft compelling value propositions (technical + commercial).
- Good analytical and market-intelligence skills (able to identify market gaps and growth opportunities).
- Self-starter, comfortable in driving strategy and execution in a matrix/global environment.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation and proposal writing skills.
- Willingness to travel regionally as required.
- Preferably tertiary qualification (Bachelor's degree or higher) in Business, Insurance, Finance or relevant discipline.
