Our client is a global company providing risk management and investigative services. They are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive new business acquisition and strengthen relationships with clients, primarily Japanese clients, while supporting the team with sales initiatives and market research.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with legal firms, accounting firms, financial institutions, and trading companies to drive referral business.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of market conditions, industry trends, and competitor activities.
  • Act as a client advocate by understanding customer needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Manage client communications, prioritize leads, and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Target and engage decision-makers within Japanese client organizations.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the Japan Desk’s client base.
  • Strengthen business relationships with existing corporate contacts and networks.
  • Deliver service presentations and communicate the company’s value proposition to potential clients.
  • Collaborate internally to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities.
  • Support marketing initiatives, including localized materials and events, to drive revenue opportunities.

Requirements & Preferences

(Must)

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in sales of intangible products or services (e.g., consulting, professional services, or B2B solutions).
  • Proficiency in Japanese (minimum JLPT N1) to liaise effectively with Japanese-speaking clients.
  • Experience in audit, forensics, journalism, or investigative roles is highly valued.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to establish trust and credibility with clients and internal teams.
