Job summary

Apple is looking for an Integration Lead Engineer to join the IS&T G&A Solutions Engineering team in Singapore. You will lead the development of 300+ integrations across a SaaS/cloud ERP platform, work hands-on, and guide onsite/offshore teams to deliver scalable, high-quality backend services.

The role demands strong Java/Spring expertise, cloud experience, and proactive, solution-oriented leadership. You will engage in design decisions, contribute to system architecture, and ensure performance

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience designing and building enterprise backend platforms/components.
• 2-4 years of experience on SaaS/Paas/RaaS solutions.
• Expert level skills of Core Java + Spring.
• Knowledge of web service technologies: REST, JSON, SOAP, HTTP, SSL, SAML, WSDL.
• Strong concurrency, scalability and fault-tolerant design knowledge.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Experience building scalable RESTful web services.
• Experience with messaging platforms like Kafka.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Fluency in English and Chinese.

Description

As an Integration Lead Engineer you will be part of the core team that builds integrations to/from a SaaS/cloud-based ERP systems both external and internal to Apple. The team would be tasked to deliver 300+ integrations across the platform which will re-define the core Business processes for Apple.

The candidate must be hands on coder doing active development and lead an onsite/offshore team. He/She should possess excellent technical leadership skills, be a pro-active solution-oriented individual with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Design and Development of a subset of Integrations.
• Make recommendations on design and implementation approaches for solutions related to System Design, Security, System Architecture and Interfaces.
• Ensure consistent Design and Implementation patterns thereby providing technical leadership.
• Bring efficiencies in operational activities including application monitoring, failure processing and integration failures, auditing and Business Insights.
• Participate in communities to remain connected with Cloud Computing/SaaS solution providers.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of Software development experience designing and building commercial/enterprise class backend platform/components
• Software development experience designing and building commercial/enterprise class backend platform/components.
• 2-4 years of experience on SaaS, Paas, RaaS solutions.
• Expert level skills of Core Java + Spring
• Understanding of web service technologies such as REST, JSON, SOAP, HTTP, SSL, SAML, WSDL.
• Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment and effectively collaborating across teams.
• Strong knowledge of concurrency, scalability and fault tolerant designs
• Strong problem solving skills
• Good Oral and written english communication skills
• Experience building highly performing and scalable backend components (a keen eye to performance/responsiveness of the backend services is a must for this role)
• Has demonstrated past experience of building scalable RESTful Web Services
• Ability to wear multiple hats and a can-do attitude
• Experience with messaging platforms like Kafka.
• Solid knowledge of application performance improvement techniques and caching solutions
• Excellent communication, leadership and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Fluency in English and Chinese

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with NoSQL DB’s like Mongo. Cassandra is a huge plus
• Familiarity with UI stack (HTML/JQuery/ Angular is a huge plus)
• Familiarity with Kafka is a plus
• Reactive Development using Spring WebFlux or Reactor.
• Work experience with Document transformation using XML and XSLT
• Search Technologies like Elasticsearch, Lucene
• Knowledge of HR systems will be a big plus
