Job summary

Autobacs Venture Singapore is seeking a Senior Car Mechanic & Trainer to diagnose complex engine, gearbox, and ECU faults and to mentor junior mechanics. The role involves rotating postings across Autobacs outlets (Ubi and Bukit Batok) for 3–6 months at each location to train, supervise, and resolve mechanical issues on-site.

You will work with the latest diagnostic tech, including hybrid systems, and report to senior management on training progress and outlet performance.

Qualifications

NITEC or Diploma in automotive tech is required or equivalent.
At least 5–10 years hands-on automotive experience.
Proficient with diagnostic scan tools and fault code interpretation.
Ability to read, write, and update maintenance and job records.
Valid Class 3 (or 3A) driving license.
Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair engine, gearbox, and ECU faults with diagnostic tools.
Service, overhaul, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing to safety standards.
Conduct test drives and post-repair system checks.
Record repair details, labour time, and parts in work orders.
Explain repair needs clearly to customers and maintain satisfaction.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
Coordinate with Team Leader on progress and priorities.
