What the role is
The Trade and International Economic Relations (TIER) cluster drives the formulation of Singapore's foreign economic policy and safeguards Singapore's economic interests in the international economic arena.
What you will be working on
- Analysing and reporting on geostrategic developments and trends that affect the flows of goods, services, and investments
- Formulating and refining strategies, policies and plans that enhance Singapore’s bilateral and plurilateral economic relations with the Americas, often in consultation and coordination with other ministries and agencies across the Whole-of-Government
- Networking and developing connections with foreign government and business counterparts
- Preparing and executing communications, consultations and engagements with key stakeholders in the business community and general public
- Organising and representing MTI in visits, meetings, negotiations and conferences
What we are looking for
- Interest in international affairs and economics
- Strong analytical, writing, communication and people skills
- Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Excited about opportunities to travel
- Prior experience in policy development and/or implementation a bonus
