Job summary

A leading shipbuilding company in Singapore is seeking a Senior Assembly Technician to assist Engineers with maintenance tasks and perform physical work on hull structures. Candidates should have a Diploma in Engineering or a related field and be willing to work under challenging conditions. A positive attitude and ability to work in a team are essential. Only Singapore citizens may apply.

Qualifications

  • Must be willing to perform hands-on work for repairs, installations and removals using tools.
  • Able to commit to overtime or extended hours due to exigency of work.
  • Confidence in assembling and dismantling structures and fittings.

  • Assist Engineers in daily maintenance tasks and perform necessary checks.
  • Carry out welding, cutting, grinding of woodwork and metallic work onboard.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols to ensure safety onboard.

Senior Assembly Technician - Structures & Fittings (Submarine)

Responsibilities
  • Assist Engineers in daily maintenance tasks and perform checks to ensure all tasks assigned are completed according to requirements.
  • Carry out welding, cutting, grinding of woodwork and metallic work onboard vessel/workshop.
  • Perform physical work of removal/servicing/installation of hull structures / components and documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Perform joint inspection and acceptance with ship representative
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of oneself and others onboard the submarine.
  • Assist in logistic support, lifting operation and housekeeping of workshop tools and equipment etc.
Requirements
  • Diploma or NTC in an Engineering or Technical related field
  • Must be willing to perform hands on work for repairs, installations and removals using tools such as spanners, wrenches and electrical tools(eg. grinders, cutters) etc
  • Confidence in assembling and dismantling of structures and fittings
  • Able to work under hot, dusty and greasy conditions and confined spaces
  • Able to commit to overtime or extended hours due to exigency of work.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Those with no prior experience will be provided with training.
