Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced technical support specialist for fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in application, design, and engineering, strong knowledge of addressable systems, and be familiar with the Singapore Fire Code. Responsibilities include preparing technical documentation, conducting client coordination meetings, and troubleshooting. This role requires strong communication skills and expertise in AutoCAD.

Job Description

• Provide technical application support for fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable), including system design, product selection, and solution proposal.

• Prepare single line diagrams, schematics, cause & effect matrix, IO lists, and compliance documentation for projects.

• Support tender and project teams with technical clarifications, value engineering, and system compliance to SCDF and relevant standards.

• Conduct coordination with consultants, clients, and subcontractors on design intent, interfaces, and site implementation requirements.

• Attend site meetings, troubleshoot technical issues, and support testing & commissioning activities where required.

• Deliver product presentations, technical training, and demonstrations to internal teams and customers.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, code changes, and new fire alarm technologies.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fire alarm systems application/design/engineering (senior level).

• Strong knowledge of addressable fire alarm architecture, networking, detectors, modules, voice evacuation interface, and integration with other fire protection systems.

• Familiar with Singapore Fire Code (SCDF) and commonly referenced standards (e.g., SS/CP and relevant international standards).

• Able to read and produce technical drawings; proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM is an advantage).

• Good communication skills to handle technical discussions with clients/consultants and internal stakeholders.

• Hands‑on troubleshooting mindset and ability to work independently under tight timelines.
