Job summary

The Ministry of Health in Singapore seeks officers to join the Regulatory Analytics team within the Regulatory Transformation Division. The role focuses on developing and improving regulatory databases and analytics frameworks to support evidence-based decision-making and risk-based inspections.

You will transform data into actionable insights to enhance regulator oversight, identify high-risk providers, and support policy review and design.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary training in Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Data Science or related disciplines.
  • Experience with statistical software and data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python, R or BI tools).
  • Familiarity with healthcare sector or regulatory processes is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good writing and communication; organized and meticulous.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Job description

What The Role Is

We are seeking suitable officers to join the Regulatory Analytics team within the Regulatory Transformation Division at the Ministry of Health. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and improving regulatory databases and analytics frameworks, and conducting analyses to support evidence-based decision-making, risk-based inspections, and regulatory policy review and design. You will transform data into actionable insights to enhance the regulator's ability to monitor compliance, detect emerging risks, improve operational efficiencies, and support strategic regulatory initiatives.

What You Will Be Working On

You will be responsible for regulatory data analytics and reporting. A key focus will be designing and implementing risk-based licensing and supervision frameworks to identify high-risk providers and services, enabling prioritisation of inspection and enforcement resources. You will also provide analytical support for policy decision-making by collaborating with policy, legal, IT, and operational teams to align data insights with regulatory objectives. You will also be involved in implementing data governance standards and protocols for data collection, validation, and management related to healthcare licensing, working with stakeholders to improve data quality and completeness across regulatory systems.

What We Are Looking For
  • Tertiary training in Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Data Science or related disciplines
  • Possesses relevant experience and working knowledge on statistical software, statistical modelling, database design and data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python, R or BI tools)
  • Familiarity with the healthcare sector or regulatory processes will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Organised and meticulous
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
