Senior AI Engineer — MLOps & Production Systems

Job summary

Public Service Division seeks an experienced AI/ML leader to develop and operationalise AI solutions for energy sector regulatory functions. You will work with data scientists and engineers to design production-ready models across the full lifecycle, and establish robust MLOps, including CI/CD/CT, retraining, monitoring and governance.

You will lead stakeholder engagement, translate AI insights into actionable outcomes, and balance business needs with technical feasibility and compliance

Qualifications

• Higher tertiary background in CS, Math, Physics, Data Science or related field.
• 5–10 years of professional experience developing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise AI/ML models in production.
• Experience across the full MLOps lifecycle.
• Expert proficiency in AI/ML modelling including supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
• Advanced programming in Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Pandas.
• Comprehensive knowledge of MLOps tools for automated training, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Experience with model optimisation techniques including quantisation, pruning, and knowledge distillation.
• Exceptional stakeholder management abilities with proven ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• (1) AI Solution Development: Work with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to design, test, and implement production-ready AI/ML models throughout the lifecycle.
• (2) MLOps and Production Lifecycle Management: Establish CI/CD/CT pipelines, versioning, automated retraining, monitoring, and guardrails for safety and reliability.
• (3) Stakeholder Management and Technical Leadership: Lead engagement with senior management and business users to translate AI outputs into actionable insights.
