Job summary
SEAGATE SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL HEADQUARTERS PTE. LTD. is seeking an Advanced Recording Engineer within the ARS-HDE team to advance recording technologies for future storage products.
You will contribute to HAMR and other high-density recording initiatives, develop experimental demonstrations, and collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to solve complex problems. Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong foundation in electromagnetics, applied physics, signal processing, or related engineering fundamentals.
- Programming experience in Python, C/C++, Procomm Plus.
Responsibilities
- Work on emerging recording technologies, including HAMR for Nearline storage products.
- Develop expertise in recording technologies, including ATI mitigation, advanced laser control systems, VBAR algorithms, and head-media electrical characterization.
- Contribute to research and development activities in advanced magnetic recording technologies.
- Develop proof-of-concept demonstrations to validate new recording concepts and system-level innovations.
- Conduct recording subsystem design, integration, testing, and optimization activities.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across multiple engineering disciplines to solve challenging technical problems.
- Progressively take ownership of research projects and drive technical investigations with increasing independence.
