A leading energy firm in Singapore is looking for a Finance and Accounting Specialist to oversee day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will include recording accounting entries, preparing GST returns, and ensuring statutory compliance. With at least 5 years of relevant experience, you must be proficient in Mandarin for effective communication with the headquarters in China. This role is perfect for someone who can work independently in a small office setup.
This role supports day-to-day finance and accounting operations for the Singapore office and acts as the local finance point-of-contact, reporting to HQ Finance in China. The scope focuses on accurate processing, statutory compliance, and timely reporting, with limited transaction volume.
Daily / Ongoing
Record accounting entries in the accounting system (GL/AP/AR)
Monitor bank balances and cash position
Process vendor payments and staff reimbursements
Verify invoices and supporting documentation
Weekly / Monthly
Prepare payment runs for HQ review
Prepare month-end closing schedules and reconciliations
Support preparation of monthly management reports for HQ
Track receivables and payables
Quarterly / Annual Compliance
Prepare GST returns and supporting schedules (if applicable)
Support ECI, corporate tax filings, and IRAS correspondence via tax agents
Support ACRA filings, AGM documentation, and XBRL (if applicable)
Prepare audit schedules and respond to basic audit queries
Systems & Administration
Maintain accounting system records
Manage access to bank portals and government portals (IRAS / CPF / ACRA)
Maintain proper documentation and filing of finance records
Risk & Process
Track statutory deadlines and elevate issues to HQ Finance
Maintain basic SOPs for key finance processes
Highlight risks or anomalies to HQ
Diploma / Degree in Accounting or Finance
Min 5 years of relevant experience
Speaks & writes proficiently in Mandarin to communicate with Chinese colleagues in China HQ.
Familiar with Singapore accounting and compliance basics
Able to work independently in a small office setup
