Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant (Non Profit) to join their team!

This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your financial expertise in support of charitable causes while working with diverse stakeholders including donors, regulators, and sporting bodies. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring financial transparency and compliance while contributing to the organization's mission-driven objectives in a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.

What you'll be doing?

Financial Management & Leadership - Prepare comprehensive monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with Charities Accounting Standard and SFRS, while overseeing day-to-day financial operations including general ledger management and financial reporting to senior leadership.

Stakeholder Relations & Audit Support - Build strong relationships with auditors, tax agents, regulators, and external partners including sponsors and donors, while providing seamless support throughout audit processes from planning to completion.

Compliance & Regulatory Excellence - Ensure full compliance with Commissioner of Charities, IRAS, Sports Association requirements and other regulatory bodies, while preparing statutory filings and supporting governance documentation for board meetings.

Grant & Donation Management - Oversee the tracking of donation receipts and disbursements for regulatory submissions, monitor grant utilization and restricted funds, and ensure proper documentation including tax-deductible receipts.

Process Enhancement & Controls - Maintain robust internal controls and financial policies while reviewing and improving finance-related procedures for greater efficiency and risk mitigation, including fixed asset and procurement oversight.

Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with various departments, external stakeholders, and sponsors to provide valuable financial insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Who are they looking for?
  • Professional Qualifications - A degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, or CPA that demonstrates your commitment to accounting excellence.
  • Specialized Experience - A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with specific exposure to the Charity and/or Sports Association sector, providing you with valuable insights into non-profit financial management.
  • Regulatory Knowledge - Strong understanding of Charities Accounting Standard (CAS) and regulatory frameworks essential for ensuring compliance in the non-profit environment.
  • Technical Skills - Experience with QuickBooks accounting software would be advantageous for seamless integration into existing financial systems.
