Job description

Our client is an investment company with 8–10 subsidiaries, all based in Singapore. At present, management has outsourced accounting functions to external accountants.

We are looking for a new hire (not a replacement) to join us as a Senior Accountant. This person must be a self-starter, with the potential to eventually take on the role of Group Financial Controller.

The role will involve handling statutory reporting to IRAS, ACRA, and auditors, as well as building financial processes for the Group, which currently has around 200 headcounts. Over time, the candidate will be expected to build and lead a finance team of 2–3 people.

This is a results-focused role, where performance matters more than hours spent, and weekend work will not be required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee full spectrum of finance functions, including reporting, cash flow, liquidity management, and strategic support.

  • Manage full set of accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, SFRS; US GAAP a plus).

  • Prepare group consolidated financial statements and perform intercompany reconciliations.

  • Handle month-end/year-end closings, audit, tax, and liaise with banks, auditors, and tax authorities.

  • Lead cost allocation, credit control, receivables management, and investment evaluations.

  • Support business units with financial analysis and insights to drive decision-making.

  • Ensure effective risk management and internal controls (SOX knowledge is a plus).

  • Drive process improvements, SOP implementation, and standardization across group operations.

  • Lead or support ad-hoc projects as required by management.

Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting or related field.

  • 5–8 years of relevant accounting/finance experience.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and consolidation.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in English and Mandarin (for liaison with regional counterparts).

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
