A leading power services company in Singapore is looking for a Senior Accountant/Assistant Manager to provide financial insights and support business units. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, at least 4 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in financial tools such as MS Excel and SAP Financial modules. This role involves managing accounting activities, tax matters, and leading a finance team to drive business performance.
As a Senior Accountant/ Assistant Manager, you will actively engage in business partnering to support various departments, providing financial insights and recommendations that drive business performance. You will also participate in system implementation projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance and streamline accounting processes and reporting capabilities.
Manage accounting activities for assigned entities, ensuring compliance and timely financial closing. Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies through close collaboration with stakeholders.
Prepare and oversee tax matters, including GST and corporate tax submissions, transfer pricing requirements, and addressing queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare/review month-end schedules, management reports, and statutory financial statements, delivering actionable insights to business partners to inform strategic decision-making.
Partner with business units to assess operational needs, annual budget requirements, and ongoing expenditures relative to forecasts and budgets to support the attainment of company objectives.
Keep abreast of the latest updates to the Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and tax regulations, evaluating their impact and advising on implementation requirements relevant to the business.
Act as a key liaison with internal and external auditors and tax agents in facilitating smooth audits and tax submissions, addressing queries related to both routine and project-based activities.
Lead/contribute to system implementation and process improvement initiatives by collaborating with Technology and Operations teams, as well as external service providers, to ensure that robust systems are implemented and seamlessly integrated with existing/enhanced processes.
Lead, motivate and develop a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching and performance feedback to ensure effective delivery of accounting and finance objectives.
Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting knowledge sharing, professional growth and continuous improvement within the team.
Undertake other finance duties and participate in ad-hoc projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting the business.
Bachelor\'s degree in Accountancy or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience, preferably including exposure to business partnering and system implementation projects.
Excellent numeracy, accounting, and tax knowledge, with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
Meticulous and adept at multi-tasking, able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively as a business partner and independently as needed.
Proficiency in MS Excel, SAP Financial modules, and database applications such as PowerBI; experience with system implementation or upgrades is highly advantageous.
