Role Summary
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day security operations within the facility to ensure a safe, secure, and disciplined environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This includes supervising security personnel, managing access control, maintaining discipline among residents, and coordinating with relevant authorities such as the Singapore Prison Service. The role also involves administrative duties to support the Security Department and ensure compliance with internal procedures and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Security Operations
- Supervise and coordinate daily security rounds and patrols to ensure all areas of the premises are secure.
- Conduct and oversee security screenings for residents, visitors, and staff entering the facility.
- Monitor dormitories and residents’ personal property to prevent contraband and maintain safety.
- Enforce security measures and disciplinary standards among residents through vigilant oversight and timely intervention.
- Support the handling of security-related incidents and investigations in accordance with internal guidelines.
- Assist in law enforcement activities with the Singapore Prison Service or other authorities when required.
- Ensure sentry and security container operations are executed effectively and safely.
- Oversee emergency response procedures, including incident reporting, evacuation drills, and crisis management.
2. Security Administration
- Assist with documentation and reporting for all security matters, including incident reports, daily occurrence logs, and security checks.
- Oversee and maintain inventory records (e.g., test kits, security equipment) and ensure maintenance and calibration of security devices.
- Coordinate and track residents’ movements in and out of the facility and manage bed allocations as necessary.
3. Team Supervision & Training
- Provide training and mentoring to junior security staff on security procedures, code of conduct, and emergency responses.
- Foster teamwork and ensure effective communication among all security team members.
- Assign duties and ensure manpower deployment aligns with operational requirements.
4. Support
- Carry out ad‑hoc duties assigned by the Security Department or Management to support overall operational needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent; relevant security certifications preferred (e.g., WSQ certifications, Security Supervisor License).
- At least 2–3 years of supervisory experience in security operations, preferably in a residential or institutional environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Sound knowledge of security protocols, access control systems, and emergency response procedures.
- Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
