Overview
The Security Operations Executive is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and harmonious living environment for dormitory residents. The ideal candidate will be proactive, people-oriented, and capable of handling both operational and community-building responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Resident Management
- Welcome new residents and assist with the check-in/out process
- Promptly address residents’ and or clients’ inquiries and concerns
- Organize and coordinate resident activities and events to promote a sense of community
- Security and Safety
- Enforce security protocols, including logs, reporting and visitor policies
- Oversee daily security operations and outsourced security personnel
- Respond to emergencies and mitigate situations
- Address safety hazards and highlight to Dormitory Manager
- Manage biometric and card-based access systems for residents and staff (both dormitory and work site)
- Manage CCTV surveillance system for suspicious activities or breaches
- Respond to emergencies (fire, medical, civil unrest)
- Administrative Duties
- Manage dormitory records and documentation, including resident records, incident reports, and maintenance logs
- Coordinate room allocations with the Resident Management Team
- Email and telephone correspondence with clients and residents
- Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Manage contracts and performance of outsourced security and transport providers
- Coordinate shuttle bus schedules and routes for workers commuting to/from site
- Liaise with transport vendors to ensure punctuality and safety
- Monitor crowd control during peak hours and ensure orderly boarding
- Liaise with government agencies (MOM, SPF, SCDF) and project stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with dormitory licensing and site safety regulations
- Conflict Resolution
- Mediate conflicts among residents and address behavioural issues in a fair and respectful manner
- Ensure a peaceful living environment by setting and enforcing dormitory rules and policies
- Communication
- Maintain clear and open communication with residents, staff, and the Management
- Keep residents informed about important updates, events, and policies
- Use various communication channels, such as email, bulletin boards, or WhatsApp
- Community Building
- Foster a sense of community and inclusivity among residents
- Organize and facilitate social and educational events to encourage resident engagement
- Compliance
- Ensure compliance with in-house rules and FEDA regulations
- Problem Solving
- Address any issues or challenges that may arise within the dormitory, such as maintenance emergencies or resident disputes
- Data Management
- Keep records of dormitory occupancy, maintenance requests, and resident feedback and provide reports to Dormitory Manager
- Any other duties as assigned by the Dormitory Management
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Security Management or Facilities Management
- WSQ Security certifications with a valid PLRD licence - PWM grade of Security Supervisor or higher
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in dormitory, security, or facility operations; experience in managing outsourced vendors/teams will be an advantage
- Familiarity with FEDA regulations is an advantage
- Proficient in English (spoken and written); ability to communicate in additional languages such as Tamil, Bengali, or Mandarin will be an advantage
- Hands-on experience with CCTV systems, biometric access control, and incident reporting platforms
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Willing to work rotating shifts, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and able to multi-task effectively
