Job summary

ByteDance Singapore Internship in security aims to give hands-on experience in offensive security, threat emulation, and security assessments across ByteDance products and platforms. You will work with security engineers to strengthen defense-in-depth controls and explore AI-driven attack/defense research.

We welcome undergrad and master students in CS/CE/IS to apply, with opportunities for learning workshops, social events, and real-world security challenges.

Qualifications

• Currently an Undergraduate/ Master’s student in CS, CE, IS, or a related STEM field.
• Strong interest in cybersecurity, especially offensive security and red team work.
• Familiar with common security concepts, vulnerabilities, and exploitation techniques.
• Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, or C/C++).
• Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute penetration tests, red team operations, and security assessments against internal systems.
• Identify, analyze, and document vulnerabilities and risks in staging and production environments.
• Conduct technical security reviews for new services or platform changes.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to suggest defense-in-depth controls.
• Research AI-specific threats and how to mitigate them.
