Simular in Singapore is seeking the first dedicated security engineer to shape security for our autonomous AI agents. You will write secure code in Python/Go/TypeScript and own security across cloud, containers, and build pipelines.
You will advocate security by design, prioritizing fixes, and shipping robust incident playbooks as the product evolves in the AI era.
This is a hands-on security role covering product code, cloud setup, and the safety of autonomous AI agents, as the first dedicated security person in Singapore. A strong candidate has a few years in security engineering, writes real code in Python, Go, or TypeScript, and can work across at least two areas like app security, cloud, containers, or build pipelines. Comfort with setting priorities alone and earning trust by shipping fixes matters as much as technical depth.
How it fits the AI era
Agents that operate a computer like a person create new risks, such as hidden instructions in a webpage steering the agent, or private data leaking through its actions. AI helps with code review and triage, but deciding what an agent may do, where its limits sit, and how to respond when something breaks stays a human judgment call. The role puts security into product design early, rather than adding it afterward.
How it builds AI experience
Working at a company that builds agents for desktop applications gives direct practice with sandboxing, permission limits, prompt injection defenses, and safe tool use. These are skills that are still taking shape across the industry. Someone coming in without this background can build it by testing agent setups against injected instructions and mapping how data moves through an agent's actions.
