Job summary

A premier shipping company in Singapore is looking for a motivated individual to manage day-to-day voyage operations for dry bulk carriers. Responsibilities include monitoring vessel movements, preparing fixture notes, and processing chartering documentation. The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in a relevant field, excellent communication skills, and a basic understanding of shipping terms. Experience is preferred, but fresh graduates can apply.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in dry bulk shipping operations preferred, fresh graduates welcome.
• Basic understanding of dry bulk charter party terms (e.g., GENCON).
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day voyage operations for dry bulk carriers (primarily Capesize), including communication with shipowners and brokers, as well as reviewing and preparing fixture notes.
• Closely monitor and manage the global movement of assigned vessels to ensure schedule adherence.
• Work closely with our internal trading team, shippers, and receivers to precisely coordinate vessel arrival times with cargo readiness, achieving seamless ship-to-cargo integration.
• Process all documentation related to chartering business, including Bills of Lading and Notice of Readiness.
• Monitor and record laytime, and participate in the calculation and verification of demurrage/despatch.
• Liaise effectively with external partners such as port agents and freight forwarders.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, International Trade, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in dry bulk shipping operations is preferred; however, fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
• Basic understanding of dry bulk charter party terms (e.g., GENCON).
• Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and possess outstanding problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
