Job summary

Alfa Medicus is seeking a dedicated Theatre/Scrub Nurse to join our operating suites in Singapore. You will oversee aseptic technique, prepare and manage surgical equipment, and support anesthesia teams during procedures.

The role requires handling multiple specialities (ENT, Plastic, Urology, Dental, Ophthalmology, O&G) and performing scrub, circulating and recovery duties. The ideal candidate holds a Nursing Diploma/degree with SNB registration and has at least 2 years of operating theatre

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Nursing from a recognised institution.
• SNB registration as a Nurse.
• Minimum of 2 years’ operating theatre experience.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive and supportive in implementing new initiatives.
• Willing to work 2 rotating shifts: Weekdays 7am–7pm; Sat 7am–1pm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform surgical procedures in a sterile manner.
• Coordinate and prepare surgical equipment and consumables for daily lists.
• Count instruments before, during and after operations.
• Handle sharps and waste safely.
• Assist in anesthetic care for general, regional, and deep sedation anesthesia.
• Scrub, circulate and recovery duties.
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care.
• Assist with patient transfer to recovery area.
• Maintain housekeeping per Infection Control Standards.
• Manage Operating Theatre facility.
• Assist with cleaning of the operating room.
• Perform scrub nurse duties.
• Experience with ENT, Plastic, Urology, Dental, Ophthalmology, or O&G.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform all surgical procedures in a sterile manner, observing all principles of asepsis and sterility
• Coordinate and prepare surgical equipment, instrument and consumables specific to the daily surgical list and preferences of surgeon
• Conduct a full count of instruments and accessories before the start of an operation, after the closure of any major cavity, and the end of the operation
• Handle all sharps and contaminated waste in a safe and effective manner
• Participate in the assisting of safe anesthetic care for general, regional and deep sedation anesthesia
• Perform scrubbing, circulating and recovery duties
• Provide pre & post-operative care for patients
• Assist with cleaning and transferring of patient to the recovery area
• Carry out proper housekeeping in accordance to Infection Control Standards
• Manage Operating Theatre facility
• Assist with the cleaning of the operating room
• Scrub Nurse duties
• Experience in handling ENT/ Plastic/ Urology/ Dental/ Ophthalmology/O&G
• Performs any other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Candidate must possess Diploma/Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution as approved by Singapore Nursing Board
• SNB registered Nurse
• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare operating theatre settings
• Able to thrive in fast-pace environment
• Proactive and supportive in carrying out new initiatives
• Able to commit to 2 rotating shift hours (Weekdays 7am - 7pm/ Sat 7am - 1pm)
