Job description

Dr. Li Qi-Jing’s lab is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our team in the field of cancer immunology. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing our understanding of the immune system's role in cancer and support the development of innovative immune therapies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute experiments utilizing genome editing techniques, including CRISPR/Cas9, to modify immune cells for cancer immunotherapy applications.
  • Design and perform functional assays to evaluate the impact of genome editing on immune cell behaviour, including T/NK cell activation, differentiation etc.
  • Collaborate closely with immunologists and other researchers to interpret data and refine experimental strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of novel methodologies to improve the efficiency and precision of genome editing in immune cells.
  • Participate in the generation of preclinical models to evaluate the efficacy of engineered immune cells in tumour settings.
  • Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook and ensure accurate documentation of experimental protocols, data, and results.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in genome editing and cancer immunology to continuously improve research strategies.
Job Requirements
  • PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related fields.
  • Strong experience in genome editing technologies, especially CRISPR/Cas9, and their application in mammalian cells.
  • Solid understanding of cancer biology and immunology, with a focus on immune cell therapies and tumor immunology.
  • Proven track record of experimental design, execution, and data analysis in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience with cell culture, primary immune cell isolation, and flow cytometry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics tools is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with experience in scientific publication and presentations.
