Job summary

National University of Singapore's Cancer Science Institute of Singapore is seeking a Scientific Manager (NIRBA Cluster) to oversee research programme management, scientific coordination, and stakeholder engagement across multiple projects within the NIRBA cluster.

The role coordinates day-to-day operations, tracks milestones and KPIs, and fosters collaboration with local and international partners to advance translational research and strategic development.

Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, RNA Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Immunology, Bioengineering, Pharmacology or a related discipline.
• Experience in managing or supporting multidisciplinary research programmes is advantageous.
• Broad understanding of biomedical research and emerging RNA technologies.
• Strong scientific writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation and day-to-day management of assigned NIRBA Innovation Clusters.
• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, timelines and KPIs, identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Support planning and execution of cluster meetings, scientific workshops and research reviews.
• Work closely with Principal Investigators and research teams to monitor scientific progress across multiple projects.
• Provide scientific input on research strategies, experimental approaches and opportunities for collaboration where appropriate.
• Identify synergies across projects and facilitate integration of complementary research activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for investigators, collaborators and partner institutions within the assigned cluster.
• Coordinate interactions with local and international collaborators, advisory boards and funding stakeholders.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across NUS, NTU, A*STAR and external partners.
• Consolidate scientific progress reports, research outputs and impact metrics.
• Track publications, intellectual property, translational outcomes and other programme achievements.
• Prepare reports, presentations and briefing materials for NIRBA leadership, funding agencies and governance committees.
• Support research collaboration agreements, grant variations and scientific reporting requirements.
• Ensure research activities are conducted in accordance with institutional and funding agency requirements.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with research governance and programme obligations.
• Support initiatives that strengthen research translation, industry engagement and national collaborations.
• Identify emerging scientific developments and opportunities that enhance NIRBA's research portfolio.
• Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement of cluster programmes.
