Working Hours
- Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 3:15pm, inclusive of 45mins lunch break
 
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays (unless requested by school)
 
Requirement
- Able to use MS word and MS Excel
 
- Preferably with some experience working in a primary school science lab
 
Key Responsibilities
1) Lesson Preparation and Material Support
Materials Preparation and Setup
- Prepare all required materials, equipment, and apparatus for science lessons based on specific teacher requirements and curriculum needs
 
- Set up laboratory stations and experimental configurations according to lesson plans and safety protocols
 
- Ensure timely preparation and organization of materials to support seamless lesson delivery
 
Teaching Support and Technical Assistance
- Provide hands‑on assistance to teachers during science lessons, particularly in the operation and handling of specialized science apparatus
 
- Offer technical guidance on equipment usage, safety procedures, and experimental setup
 
- Support teachers in demonstrating scientific procedures and managing laboratory activities
 
2) Inventory Management and Resource Control
Stocktaking and Inventory Management
- Conduct regular and systematic stocktaking of all science laboratory resources, equipment, and consumable materials
 
- Maintain accurate inventory records and identify items requiring replenishment or replacement
 
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate procurement needs with relevant departments
 
Loan Services and Resource Tracking
- Manage and maintain comprehensive tracking systems for laboratory resource loans and equipment usage
 
- Process loan requests, monitor borrowed items, and ensure timely return of laboratory resources
 
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage and availability for optimal resource allocation
 
3) Educational Support and Display Management
Performance Task and Assessment Support
- Prepare specialized materials, equipment, and setups required for science performance tasks and practical assessments
 
- Coordinate with teachers to ensure all assessment materials meet curriculum requirements and safety standards
 
Science Notice Board Management
- Design, prepare, and maintain engaging science notice boards that support curriculum objectives and student learning
 
- Update displays regularly with relevant scientific information, student work, and educational content
 
4) Environmental and Maintenance Responsibilities
Plant Care and Maintenance
- Maintain and care for all plants grown and managed by the science department
 
- Monitor plant health, implement appropriate care routines, and support botanical learning activities
 
- Coordinate plant-related educational activities and experiments as required
 
5) Additional Support Services
Flexible Task Management
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor that support the overall effectiveness of the science department
 
- Adapt to changing departmental needs and provide flexible support across various science education initiatives
 
- Contribute to special projects, events, and activities as directed by school leadership
